About Me
Balancing blood sugar is the foundation of everything I do with my clients.
Consulting a blood sugar nutritionist can be beneficial. Why? Because if your blood sugar isn’t stable, your hormones won’t be happy either.
My own struggles with my blood sugar and hormones showed me the importance of blood sugar balance and led me to train as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
I’m not just a nutritionist who will help you to balance your blood sugar via your food/drink choices.
I want your lifestyle to support your blood sugar and hormones too, whether you’re a millennial woman who wants to get an early handle on your hormone health or you’re looking to navigate midlife and menopause with more ease (or anything in between).
The Personal Story Behind My Practice
My relationship with food started long before I trained as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.
In my grandmother’s kitchen, food was joy — nourishing, comforting and a way of bringing people together through her traditional Mexican cooking.
But in my mother’s kitchen, food was much more closely linked to portion control.
Those two very different approaches to food and eating led into a cycle of yo-yo dieting and restriction, which disrupted both my blood sugar and my hormones from a relatively early age.
By my 20s, every physical exam showed elevated blood sugar.
I wasn’t living on sodas or sweets, yet I was warned repeatedly that if things didn’t change, I’d be on the path to prediabetes and eventually type 2 diabetes.
It didn’t add up and that confusion is what pushed me to dig deeper.
Studying Nutritional Therapy led me to discover how food could work with my body, not against it, and the non-food factors that can impact blood sugar levels.
By changing the way I ate and lived, I found a sustainable way to keep my blood sugar balanced, support my hormones and stay free of diabetes while still enjoying food I love.
That is why I’m so passionate about helping women today.
I know what it’s like to feel at the mercy of your cravings, energy crashes or unpredictable cycles because of your blood sugar and I’m also proof it doesn’t have to be that way.
Balancing blood sugar for hormones has been the turning point in my own health and it’s the foundation I now use to help my clients feel in control again.
As a nutritionist who specializes in blood sugar balance, I work with clients who want to manage type 1 or type diabetes or avoid or reverse prediabetes.
But most of the women who work with me aren’t only concerned about diabetes or prediabetes.
Hormonal health is also a big priority, especially hormonal imbalances, PCOS, perimenopause and menopause.
They want to work with an expert who isn’t solely a nutritionist and can make sure their lifestyle is also supporting balanced blood sugar in a way that positively impacts hormonal health and overall wellbeing.
I know the confusion, frustration and exhaustion that comes from feeling like your body isn’t cooperating. And I know how freeing it feels when you finally have a plan that works.
I believe food should be enjoyable, not stressful, and that long term blood sugar stability comes from small, personalized shifts, not restriction or guilt or another ‘blood sugar reset’.
